1. What happens if it's raining on Show Day?

We’re pretty hardy folk up here in the country, so unless the weather is really extreme, the show will go on.  Be like a farmer and wear your boots, coat and hat!

If you are coming from Auckland or out of town to our show and the weather is bad where you are, check with us as the weather in Helensville is often quite different to other parts of Auckland.

2. How do I buy tickets for the Helensville Show?

Your best option, to avoid delays when turning up at the Show, is to buy your tickets in advance through helensvilleshow.flicket.co.nz. Otherwise you can buy your tickets on the day at the entry gates, preferably by card.

Children 16 and under are FREE, adults $15 +fees.

3. Can I bring my dog to Helensville Show?

By all means – but only if you are going to be entering the Butch Pet Dog Show, Terrier Race, or Dog Trials. Unfortunately with so much livestock and so many people – and in particular little children – on site during show day, we can’t have dogs wandering all around the grounds.

See our Dogs at Helensville Show page for more.

4. Are the showgrounds wheelchair accessible?

Absolutely! Our showgrounds are completely flat, and each year our volunteers put in a lot of effort to ensure the grassed areas such as the trade section and the carnival area are as flat and smooth as possible. The main show building has a level concrete floor. Getting to the equestrian rings does involve crossing the sand racetrack, but the main crossing area is pretty well compacted for show day. Please note: if it is very wet in the days prior to the show, some grassed parts of the grounds could become too soft for narrow wheelchair wheels.

5. Can I ride my horse at the showgrounds?

Not a problem! You can purchase the use of a key through the show office to enter the showgrounds and ride your horse when you want. Visit our keyholders page for more information.

6. Is food and drink available on show day?

We have a huge range of food and drink outlets, so there’s something for everyone in the family, from traditional chips, hot dogs and candyfloss through to a wide selection of healthier options. We also have a licensed bar.
